Kidnapped doctor rescued in Ebonyi by the police

A medical doctor, Dr. Johnson Obuna, who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Tuesday in Ebonyi, has been rescued by security operatives.
Dr. Obuna was kidnapped in his private clinic at Aguogboriga Estate in Abakaliki, the state capital, while he was about leaving from the day’s work.
The doctor who is a pastor with Redeemed Christian Church of Nigeria is an Obstetrician gynecologist with the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.
The Ebonyi State police Command in a statement signed by its spokesman, ASP George Onoura, confirmed the abduction and rescue of the victim.

Onuora said, “In the early hours of 8 september 2015, a distress call was received from the operations control room of the Ebonyi state Command that a medical doctor was kidnapped by hoodlums. A combined team of SAR, anti-kidnapping, SIB operations and patrol team from the Central Police station and area command Abakaliki quickly swung into action and rescued the victim hale and hearty on 9 september 2015.”
He also stated that efforts were on to arrest the fleeing hoodlums.
“Ebonyi state police command remain resolve to sustain the war against all perpetrators of heinous crimes in the state,” he added.
