Hulk Hogan's Daughter Brook Defends Her Father

In the wake of a recently released audio transcript of Hulk Hogan making racist remarks about his daughter's romantic relationships, Brooke Hogan has taken to Facebook to defend her father.

"If you knew the dad I knew, you'd know his tender heart," she writes. "He'd never want to hurt his fans, or family from the start. If you knew my father, you would know how hard he fought … and the way it brought a smile to people light, medium and dark." The poem is accompanied by a collage of pictures from Hulk's career, as well as a father-daughter photo.

Hulk was dropped from the WWE website Friday morning and removed from the online Hall of Fame. Hogan's lawyer David Houston told PEOPLE he resigned from the organization, but the WWE contends he was fired.

The transcript of the audio shows the wrestler using the n-word when talking about Brooke's love life.
Hogan issued an apology exclusively to PEOPLE.

"Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it," Hogan said.
