A small Komala Air aircraft with six people on board crashed on Wednesday (Aug 12) in Papua, Indonesia, due to engine failure, killing one person.
The Indonesian domestic plane was enroute from Wamena, Papua, to Ninia Airport in the same province at 7.25am in the morning. "The engine failure made the plane fell in Ninia Airport's runway," Papua's Head Office Paulus Waterpau said.
Passenger Eka Wijaya Sumanta was killed in the accident, while five others including pilot Herman Kiono were injured and evacuated to a hospital nearby.
