In a Facebook post, Goonj shared shocking pictures of the contribution they received during their recent donation drive. From blood stained under garments to rotten food and broken utensils, the ‘contributions’ offered were absolutely disgusting.
Goonj an award-winning social enterprise works to assist rural communities in remote areas by delivering basic needs like clothing, sanitary pads and domestic tools from urban areas. The organization uses city’s discard and fuels wide spread development across far flung villages of India. Unfortunately, the donations they received in one of their recent drives was not generous but absolutely heartless.
Through this post, the organization wanted to send out a message that it is not a garbage store and such contributions not only demean the volunteers but also the recipients and do-gooders.
