When Ludacris performed at the Fashion Meets Music Festival in Columbus, Ohio this past Saturday he proposed replacing Labor Day Weekend with his own holiday, LudaDay Weekend.
He played an hour set wearing an official LudaDay Weekend T-shirt. He also went on to inform the audience that 2015 was the tenth anniversary of his self proclaimed holiday.
Although it seemed like a joke at the time, upon further research, it is confirmed that Ludacris actually does host and participate in a ton of different events over Labor Day Weekend.
This year to raise funds, Ludacris rallied up celebrities such as Chris Brown, Dej Loaf, Omarion and Trinidad James to play in his annual celebrity basketball game held at the Georgia State University arena. Ludacris and Brown were both team captains, but team Luda won the game in the end. According to sources, the arena was so packed that the Fire Marshall was trying to evacuate ticket holders from the building.
Ludacris also hosted a Block Party in Atlanta on August 31 which featured national and local artists such as Mack Wilds, Mylah and Ludacris himself. He also held a celebrity bowling event with the likes of Raven Symone and LaLa Anthony.
The very next day, "Luda" brought more than 1,000 kids to the Atlanta Braves' September 1 matchup against the Miami Marlins at Georgia's Turner Field
