The immediate past Governor of Jigawa, Sule Lamido, has arrived Kano to face corruption charges pressed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
He was escorted by EFCC operatives and is awaiting his arraignment in a Kano holding facility. He is facing prosecution over an alleged N1.3 billion he received from a construction company, Dantata and Sawoe, as a 10 percent kickback for contracts the firm won. The money was paid into the accounts of companies owned by Mr. Lamido and his sons.
EFCC is also charging his sons.
