A montana polygamist is citing last week's U.S gay marriage rulling as he argues that he should be legally allowed to have a second wife. Nathan Collier of Billings, is threating legal action after the state rejected his application. "It is about marriage equality." He said. "You can't have this without polygamy." But Yellowstone country Courthouse Officials denied his bid on Tuesday.
The 46 year old, who owns a refrigeration business, married first wife Victoria, 43, 2000. He and second wife Christine, had a wedding ceremony in 2007 but did not obtain a marriage licence. "My second wife Christine, who i am not legally married to, she's put up with my crap for a lot of years. She deserves legitimacy." He said.
But polygamy as he criticed the decision by a majority of his fellow nationwide.
The Judge said that people who wish to marry more than one person cold also argue that a ban subordinates them.
