Joke Silva loses mother

Mother of veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva, Dr Marienne Abimbola Silva is dead. 

She died peacefully at the age of 89 on Sunday (July 19th) morning. 

The late Dr Silva was the third female doctor in Nigeria.

She, however, was the first Nigerian female to bag a medical degree. 

She was also conferred with an OON (Officer of the Order of the Niger) award in 1979. 

The late Dr Silva is survived by her children and grandchildren.
