Many families in Yemen say they are living in constant fear as the civil war continues. Parents say that their children are traumatized that they are sent for cover by the sound of a door slamming.
The fighting between Houthi rebels and Saudi-backed government forces has displaced a million people, destroyed their Cultural heritage sites and terrorized the population. Families have also been divided, with some members fleeing to other countries while the unlucky ones have been stopped and turned back.
According to The New York Times, the situation has worsened since a Saudi-led bombing cmpaign began in March, and a de facto blockade has caused shortages of food and fuel for many of the nations, 26 million people.
